Despite many difficulties the HLA is still the recognised borough-wide organisation for leaseholders and remains the only forum in which leaseholders can be themselves and express their views independently. Since June 2022 the Council has been running housing services directly and the new structures and personal have taken some time to get established. We have arranged for the deputy leader of Haringey Council, Sarah Williams, who is also the cabinet member for housing and planning to attend and give a brief presentation on Housing Improvement and Retrofit Works. Many leaseholders feel the service they received is poor and the HLAs engagement with the Council is vital to help improve the service provided, but we need your support to keep going. The AGM is when officers and committee members are elected, so if you would like to be more involved, please put you name forward to join the HLA committee. Also, It’s important that enough people attend for the meeting to be valid and any decisions made are binding, or quorate, so do please come along if you can. Because more and more meetings are now hybrid we will ask this AGM to consider a constitutional amendment allowing those attending online to vote. Hi there,
I’ve been a leaseholder for 12 years but wasn’t aware of the HLA until I discovered your organisation in a google search this morning.
I see that I missed this year’s AGM, but I’m keen to learn what was discussed. My property insurance premium doubled this year, so I’m particularly pleased to discover that there’s representation in the form of the HLA.
